Bass shoes

Here’s the 9th pair of shoes I have made- bass shoes! These were made for my band director from middle school. I had a lot of fun making these because they were so different from everything I’ve done before. Guess what- these don’t violate any copyrights! FINALLY.

The shoes were gessoed, painted, then accented with a combination of Sharpie and black painted outlines.

Bass shoes! Painting wood grain is fun to try.

These don't really need captions, but it looks better with one.

I like the backs of these...

These shoes were part of a good trade- I painted shoes for him, and he helped me learn the basics of playing mellophone! I finished these in January 2010. They took…probably under 10 hours, but I’m not sure on the specifics.

SO COOL! I wore them to the American String Teacher’s Association 2010 Nat’l conference and they were such a hit, they made it in the National String Teacher Magazine! Thanks Emily! šŸ™‚
